CENTRAL VIRGINIA GOLD PROSPECTORS MEETING LOCATION; The next meeting will be on August 18th at the Lovin Gold Mining Prospecting Supplies store, 1082 Main Street (Route 15) in downtown Dillwyn at 10 AM. Bring a lawn chair. Wonder if she would like a job. `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Report on July 21, 2007 Meeting The meeting was called to order with approximately 75 members and guests in attendance. For the new members, Ben reviewed the land lease program and the rules, such as no fires on the ground, barbecue grills only, do not dump charcoal on ground. He requested that members help enforce the rules and report violations to him. Also pick-up trash, even if it is not yours. Camping is permitted up to 8 days--if you intend to stay longer than that, let Ben know. The first day of legal dredging was July 1st. 4-wheelers should be used only to take equipment to the creek. There is an issue over oil leaking into the water so do not drive up and down the creek. Also, use caution when putting gas into your dredges and other equipment. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` New Business: There are a number of events that CVGP will be participating in during August, September and October. If you can help at any of these, please let us know. August 11 - (Saturday) Agriculture and Industry Day 9AM – 5 PM at the Lee Wayside Memorial Park, Route 60 west toward Buckingham Courthouse September 8 (Saturday) - Goldvein Jubilee - Our meeting at Dillwyn is that morning and the Goldvein event is in the afternoon. September 21, 22 and 23 – Field Days of the Past October 6 - 10 AM – 4 PM Fluvanna County Farm Days October 7 – 3 PM - Goochland County Historical Society – Tabscot Mount Gillard Church October 20 – CVGP club meeting October 27 and 28 – 2 day event– GPAA gold show in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. It was voted on by the membership and they approved to keep all of the Buckingham properties for another year so the rent has been paid. The club discussed and approved the properties where dredging will or will not be allowed: #1 no dredging; # 2 dredging allowed, # 3 no dredging; # 4 no dredging; # 5 dredging allowed; # 6 dredging allowed; # 7 dredging allowed and # 8 no dredging. If you don’t have it, you could be asked to get it or leave.
