CENTRAL VIRGINIA GOLD PROSPECTORS THE NEXT MEETING will be on February 17, 2007 at 10AM. Due to the predicted low temperatures we thought it best to have the meeting inside with some heat and AFTER the business part of the meeting, we will proceed to the Buckingham Property No. 1 for the scheduled workday. After the workday Hot Homemade Stew will be served. If you have a chainsaw, it would be helpful and make work easier if you could bring it along. We will meet at 10 AM at Teresa's Place (Restaurant). The restaurant is on Highway 15 South at Dillwyn. More specifically it is approximately 1/4 mile north of Route 60 (Sprouse's Corner) on Route 15. They will be serving a breakfast buffet and hot coffee. This meeting will be short and a workday for the land use people will be held immediately after. The meeting will go on regardless of the weather. After the work is done, food will be served. The Booker Hunt Club members (we share some of the leased property with them) will be helping with the clean-up and then join us for the food afterwards. Please show your support of the club and come to this meeting. REPORT ON JANUARY 20, 2007 MEETING January 20th meeting report: The meeting was called to order and Ben welcomed everyone. We started the New Year off in a big way—this is the largest number of attendees ever, except for events at the leased property in Buckingham. There were approximately 60 members and guests present. Ben announced that we have a new webpage for the club. The address is www.centralvirginiagoldprospectors.com This is in addition to our original webpage at www.infiltec.com/cvgp There are lots of club pictures, videos and information on this new site. Take a look. The claims section is viewable only to Land Use Members. There is a password to enter this part of the website. The information on the site will constantly be changing so be sure and check back often. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Even though we have not mentioned the dredging issue recently in the newsletters, we want you to know that the issue is still of utmost importance and that good progress is being made. A full report will be given soon—just be patient for a little while longer—it has been a long road but the end is in sight. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outings for upcoming season: We are contemplating something for every other month. If you have any suggestions on things we can do—such as a common dig or whatever let us know. These outings would include food provided and a short meeting. These times are ideal to bring the whole family—kids are always welcome !! Sign-up for the leased properties will be at the March meeting. At the February meeting we will be discussing and finalizing all the rules and requirements for the new season. This will be a very important meeting so please make the extra effort to attend. A proposal was made to send Ben and Kathy to the 2007 GPAA Chapter Officers’ & State Directors’Rendevouz. This is being held February 5-9 at the LDMA Stanton Camp in Arizona.
