The meeting was held at Buckingham Property No. 1 with about 42 members and guests present. There were also approximately 12 members at the Field Days of Past and Goldvein events. We want to thank them very much for their hard work in helping to make both these events a huge success for the club. The Secretary and Treasurer gave their reports. We were reminded about the gold show at Lynchburg on October 14 and 15. NOTE: THE ADDRESS GIVEN FOR THE SHOW IN THEIR ADVERTISING MATERIALS IS INCORRECT—IT SHOULD BE 1200 CHURCH STREET. Also, we were asked to consider volunteering for this event. Help is needed not only for the CVGP booth but GPAA needs our assistance. If you can volunteer some time to help at this event, call Ben at (434) 983-7062. Ben told us of all the events the club is considering participating in next year. These are: Field Day of the Past, Orange County Fair, Orange County Street Festival, Lake Anna Tours, Heritage Days at Dillwyn and the Goldvein Jubilee. Keep in mind that participating in these events gets the word out to people about what we do when prospecting and also how we actually help the environment, among other things. We are also getting involved with the school kids and introducting them to gold prospecting. We were reminded that until further notice at Property No. 1 the road to the ford is closed to vehicles and that road No. 11 from the second loading deck to the creek is also closed. WATCH FOR RIBBONS. Also, we were again reminded about NOT digging in the creek banks !! This is being monitered. Only dig in the middle of the creek !! And, if you dig holes be sure to fill them back. Work days are being planned and the schedule will be sent to you in an upcoming newsletter. Land fees for the 2006-08 season were to be paid in full by the September meeting but that was extended to the October meeting—then locks will be changed. Rules about those who don’t pay this year and how they can pay next year were discussed. This will be finalized at the October meeting. Also, remember that we need your feedback about the new properties No. 2 through No. 7 so we can decide what to do when renewal time comes. Hunting season using dogs runs from the 17th of November through the first week of January and during that time we can only use Property Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 on Sundays since this is shared with a hunt club. Properties 4 and 7 can be used anytime year round exclusively by CVGP. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Dredging blanket permit is still awaiting approval. If you want to file for an individual permit, we will be glad to help you do this. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` At the October meeting we will have the drawing for the ounce gold nugget. Tickets will be available for purchase at the meeting but credit will not be given for most tickets sold (that ended in September) Also, we will have the drawing for the metal detector. We will finalize plans for the year round meetings. We will let you know more about this. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Nominations were taken for officers for the upcoming season. The only nominations were for the current officers Ben, John, Bob and Sandy. The floor will be opened at the October meeting for any further nominations and the election held. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Last, the drawings were held and the meeting was adjourned.
