CENTRAL VIRGINIA GOLD PROSPECTORS______ UPCOMING MEETING MARCH 18, 2006 The last meeting of CVGP was held on October 15, 2005 at Buckingham. The 2006 season will begin on March 18, 2006 at 10:00AM at the Small Country Campground in Louisa. See the attached sheet for the entire 2006 meeting schedule and directions to the Louisa campground and also to the leased Buckingham property. There are 3 meetings on the schedule to be held at Buckingham. Also, at that time, the land use fee can be paid. Remember that this has to be done in person because a “Release from Liability” form for Kyanite Mining must be signed by each participant. The fee covers the main participant and immediate family members. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The membership voted at the October meeting to have another raffle for an ounce gold nugget with a quarter ounce nugget going to the person selling the most tickets. The tickets will be available for distribution at the March meeting and each meeting after that until the October meeting. At the October meeting the winning ticket will be drawn. If anyone has any prospecting related items for sale, let us know and we will put it in the newsletter. Go 2 miles (bearing left on 649) into Small Country Campground. Campground entrance will be on the right. As you drive up the dirt road, pavillion is on right. From Harrisonburg Area: Route 33 East- go through Ruckersville, Barboursville and Gordonsville to Trevillians-at intersection of Routes 33 and 22 turn left onto Route 22 then take immediate RIGHT onto Rote 613 - go to Route 649 and turn LEFT - go 2 miles (bearing left on 649) into Small Country Campground. From Manassas Area: South on Route 29 to Route 15 South. Take 15 South through Orange to Gordonsville - turn LEFT onto Route 33 - take 33 to Trevillians - turn LEFT onto Route 22 and immediately turn RIGHT onto Route 613 - go to Route 649 and turn LEFT. Go 2 miles (bearing left on 649) into Small Country Campground. DIRECTIONS to Buckingham Property: On A map find the intersection of route 15 and route 60 at Sprouse’s Corner. Go 1 ˝ miles south on route 15. In curve you will see a sign for route 714—go to NEXT gravel road and turn right. It is across from two churches on left. After going through gate, go past trailer on right. When you come to a clearing on the left with a large oak tree you should bear to the right. This road will take you to the creek. You should not attempt to go any further than the creek unless you have an ATV or 4-wheel drive.
