Hi Everyone...Below are the minutes for the last meeting of this season. Hope all of you have a good winter and look forward to seeing you at our start- up meeting in the Spring. The club officers will be in contact over the winter break to plan things for the upcoming season and if you have any thoughts or suggestions, please let us know. CENTRAL VIRGINIA GOLD PROSPECTORS MINUTES OF MEETING OCTOBER 26, 2002 Approximately 25 members were present for the meeting. Due to the late arrival of Rod Ingalls, Ned Skinner called the meeting to order beginning with a moment of silence being observed. Ned told us about his trip to the gold show in Georgia and how much he enjoyed it. Walter Carr also was at the show. Our Vice President then read an email reply he had sent to Mike Chenoweth in response to his postings on the Tom Ashworth website and it was agreed by those present that the reply should be posted to the site. Next, our re-joining the GPAA was brought up and a letter that was received from them was read. Some requirements set forth in the letter were discussed by Ned with Perry Massie while in Georgia. The questions Ned had were resolved between them and it looks like things are on track for us to again become affiliated with the GPAA. If your membership is up for renewal or you are contemplating joining GPAA or LDMA, please inform them that you are a member of Central Virginia Gold Prospectors so we can get credit. The dredging permit applications were completed and will be sent in shortly. Hopefully we will have them all back as approved by the time of our first meeting next Spring. The mine safety course is still pending and we will keep you informed as to a date for that. ELECTION OF NEW OFFICERS WAS THEN HELD. Unfortunately, there were not too many who indicated an willingness to serve in that capacity. The results were as follows: Bob Stowe was re-elected as Treasurer Sandy Stowe was re-elected as Secretary Harry McElhone was elected Vice President Ned Skinner was elected President Ben Warner will continue as Claims Committee Chairman. The meeting schedule for next year is being put together and will be sent out soon. Bob Stowe gave the Treasurer's Report. The meeting was then adjourned and everyone enjoyed the good food that was provided which included burgers, bbq, baked beans and numerous other dishes and desserts. We thank everyone who brought a dish-- they were all great and much enjoyed.
