February 16 CVGP Meeting - Reminder.

CVGP: Central Virginia Gold Prospectors.

Dear Fellow Prospectors,

Just to remind you, the next CVGP meeting (and 1st meeting of 2002) will be
Saturday, Feb. 16th at 10 AM at Small Country Campgroundn pavillion in
Louisa, VA.
(DIRECTIONS: Interstate 64 to exit 143 (Rt.208 - North)....go 2.5 miles &
turn Left at small sign on to 640 and go 150 yards and turn right at small
sign on to 649. Go 2 miles (bearing left on 649) into Small Country
Campground. Campground entrance will be on the right. As you drive up the
dirt road, pavilion is on right.)

The FIRST order of business will be to select NEW CLUB OFFICERS (President,
Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer & Claims Committee Chairman). This task
was to be accomplished at the last 2001 meeting but was postponed due to POOR
membership attendance. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY OTHER ORDER OF BUSINESS
CONDUCTED UNTIL NEW OFFICERS ARE SELECTED WHETHER BY VOTE, VOLUNTEERING OR
WHATEVER IT TAKES !!!!!!!!

As I've mentioned in our newsletters numerous times, the CVGP is YOUR club
and it will now be up to ALL of you to select new officers. The more members
that attend this meeting, the better the chance of new officers being
selected that will be representative of the memberships desires.

You do not have to be a Rocket Scientist to be a CVGP officer nor will it
take up that much of your time to perform club officer duties ! The current
officers will be available to assist you (at and after the meeting), transfer
over club records, explain duties, etc. to make it as easy as possible for
you to jump right in and to help out with a smooth transition. If your heart
is really into prospecting, chances are you've already got what it takes to
be an officer !

So, what it comes down to is that you ALL have the following choice:
1) Attend the meeting, participate in the selection of new officers and the
CVGP continues to exist and thrive for prospecting in Virginia.
                   OR
2) Have a repeat of the the last meeting, with no new officers being selected
in which case, after 2 years in existance, the CVGP will come to an IMMEDIATE
end and we'll all say our "Goodbyes" to each other !

As they say, it's time for the "Torch to be passed" with new blood and fresh
ideas for the CVGP. THAT DECISION IS NOW ENTIRELY UP TO YOU ALL !!!!!!!

(If you would like to place your name for nomination, please let me know by
E-Mail and for what position you would like to be a candidate AND PLEASE
ATTEND THIS MEETING ! Also, if you know members that do not have E-Mail,
please urge them to attend this meeting !)

Regards,
Ron Pope
