CVGP: July 24, 2001 Notice of Extension of GPAA Vote.

Dear Fellow Gold Prospectors, 

As most of you know, the CVGP held a vote at the June 16th meeting on whether 
or not the CVGP should be a chapter of the national GPAA.   A total of 27 
votes where cast by the attending members with all voting against being a 
GPAA chapter and we thought that would be the end of this issue. 

At the last meeting of July 21st, the GPAA Virginia Claims Director, Rod 
Ingalls, advised us that the GPAA did not believe the vote was a fair one 
since the CVGP club registry has over 170 names and that we should give 
everyone an opportunity to vote.  The current CVGP officers agree that this 
is a fair request so we are extending the vote for those that were not able 
to attend the June 16th meeting or the July 21st meeting in which members 
attending were requested to indicate their vote on the attendance list if 
they were not at the June 16th meeting. 

So, we are extending the vote to a DEADLINE DATE of Sept. 1, 2001 to give ALL 
members a chance to vote on this issue. 

Your vote should be a simple "YES" or "NO": 
      YES - the CVGP should be a chapter of the GPAA    or 
        NO - the CVGP should not be a chapter of the CVGP. 

You can cast your vote by any of the following methods: 
1) Reply to this E-Mail with either a "YES" or a "NO" vote. 
                              or 
2) If you are planning on attending the Aug. 18th meeting, you can advise us 
of your vote then. 
                              or 
3) Mail your "YES" or "NO" vote to: 
      Ron Pope, 929 Brownings Cove, Shipman, VA 22971 

If you have already cast a vote at either the June 16th or July 21st 
meetings, PLEASE DO NOT CAST ANOTHER VOTE unless you wish to change your 
original vote in which case we are requesting you to note that you are 
changing your vote. 

Any votes received after Sept. 1st WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED for the final tally.   
Results of the final tally of the vote will be announced at the Sept. 15th 
CVGP meeting with that deciding vote being the FINAL decision on this matter ! 

For those without E-Mail, club president, Joe Coyle, will have a note on the 
CVGP post cards regarding the vote extension.  If you know members that do 
not have E-Mail, please tell them about this vote extension.  Anyone who 
would like a copy of the report detailing the discussions prior to the 
initial vote at the June 16th meeting can contact me or look at copies that 
we'll have available at the Aug. 18th meeting.
