UPDATE ABOUT VA-CHAPTER OF EGPA JULY 26th MEETING at 10:00 AM

The meeting location for the upcoming meeting on Saturday, July 26th has 
been changed from the Eastern Gold property to the Buckingham County Park 
picnic shelter.  We have reserved this space for our meeting since it is 
under a cover and there is always the possibility it might rain at the time 
of our scheduled meeting.  Sorry for the short notice but we only recently 
became aware of the availability of this facility.

Directions:  These directions are from the Loving Gold store building

If you are coming from the north, go south on route 15 past Lovin Gold for 
approximately 2 miles to traffic light.  The Food Lion will be on the right 
and there is a Dollar General store on the left.  The park is directly 
behind the Dollar General.

Report on June 28, 2008 Meeting

The next meeting of VA-EGPA will be July 26thth at 10:00 AM

The June 28th meeting was called to order by Club President Bob Stowe.  The 
meeting was held at the EGPA property in Dillwyn.  A large number of people 
were present for the 3-day common dig.

Bob announced that it would be a short meeting so everyone could get back to 
prospecting.

The Secretary's and Treasurer's reports were given

OLD BUSINESS:

The new club bylaws  final version is now complete  and will be available 
for review and approval at the next meeting.

A checking account has been opened for the club finances

A club logo to use on  t-shirts and hats was discussed.  It had been 
previously decided to use the EGPA logo and include VA-Chapter but because 
of the complexity of their logo making the price higher it was decided to go 
with something simpler.  This will be again discussed at the upcoming 
meeting and hopefully suggestions will be made.

The club has a new website thanks to David Saum.  At the site, there is a 
membership application, along with information about the club.

New Business:

Since Lovin Gold no longer has a store facility in Dillwyn, it is necessary 
for us to find a new meeting place.   We spoke with several organizations 
about using their facilities but the charges are high.  It has been decided 
that for the next meeting we will again gather at the EGPA property in 
Dillwyn.

The next meeting will be on July 26th at 10:00 AM at the EGPA property.

DIRECTIONS:
                         From Route 15-2 miles north of Dillwyn, turn on 
route 631, go  3.5 miles and turn right onto route 682 and go  1.2 
miles-route 682 becomes 617.  Watch for houses numbered 867 and 873, turn 
right in driveway and follow dirt drive to camp area.

                           From Route 20 take route 617 and go 1 mile-look 
for drive on left between house Nos. 873 and 867-follow to camp area.

Ben spoke about the upcoming  Miner's Safety Class-- The Miner's Safety 
Class is scheduled for August 2, 2008. If you would like to attend please 
let Ben (434-983-1300) know by July 26th, 2008--this is the final date for 
sign up. The cost will be $18.75. This fee covers the class, building 
rental, and lunch. Meeting place is the VFW building in Buckingham Co. 
Virginia.  From Sprouses Corner travel 2.4 miles west on rt# 60.  VFW on 
right.

Our Vice President, Dale Wilson, was kept busy running the raffles for 2 
really nice nuggets.  We also want to thank him for providing Porta-Johns 
for use during the outing.  That certainly makes life easier, especially for 
the ladies.

The meeting was then adjourned so all the anxious gold hunters could go off 
to their respective spots.
